Province Invites ITDC to Develop and Manage 600-hectare Site in West Buleleng, Bali

NusaBali reports that Bali’s Deputy Governor and Gubernatorial candidate, Ketut Sudikerta, has criticized the imbalance in development between Bali’s North and South.

In an effort to encourage development in Bali’s North, Sudikerta is offering a 600-hectare piece of acreage owned by the Province in West Buleleng to the Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC).
The ITDC operates the highly successful ITDC Complex at Nusa Dua.

Sudikerta said a commitment is needed to develop North Bali. In conjunction with plans to develop the 600-hectare seaside complex in the Island’s North, the Government is also planning on a toll road connecting North Bali – South Bali –  East Bali – West Bali.
The President Director of ITDC, Abdulbar M. Mansour, gave a positive response to Sudikerta’s proposal, saying: “We are very interested proven by the promise of Bali’s South. What’s more, the market in North Bali is still wide open. What’s important is to finalize the legal formalities first.”
In the past, there have been legal disputes surrounding the 600-hectare site in Buleleng.
